AVNOJAVNOJ, Antifašističko V(ij)eće Narodnog Oslobođenja Jugoslavije, stands for Anti-Fascist Council of National Liberation of Yugoslavia. This was the political leadership of the main anti-fascist forces of Yugoslavia during its occupation in the World War II, the Partisans led by Tito. AVNOJ proclaimed new Yugoslavia on 29 November 1943 in Jajce. |
