Amir Khusro(Redirected from Amir Khusrau)
Abul Hasan Yaminuddin Khusrau (1253-1325 AD), better known as Amir Khusro Dehlavi, was one of India's greatest poets. He wrote in both Persian and Hindustani. He was a Sufi mystic and a spiritual disciple of Nizamuddin Auliya of Delhi. He is also credited as being the founder of both Hindustani classical music and Qawwali music. His poetry is still sung today in Sufi shrines throughout Pakistan and India. External links |
