Cameron Highlands is a highlands region located about 20km east of Ipoh (and about 150km north of Kuala Lumpur) on the east side of the border between the states of Perak and Pahang in Malaysia. It is the highest area on the mainland, and the climate is temperate enough to have distinct temperature variations year round.
It is home to many tea plantations, being Malaysia's biggest tea-producing region. The area is also known as a major supplier of legumes and vegetables to both Malaysia and Singapore. Travelling to Cameron Highlands takes up to one and the half hours from Tapah by car.
