Collin Kelley

Collin Kelley, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, is an award winning poet, playwright and journalist. His debut collection of poetry, Better To Travel , has been nominated for the Georgia Author of the Year Award, Kate Tufts Discovery Award and Lambda Literary Award.

Kelley's poetry has been published in The Pedestal, Lily, Welter , Poetry Super Highway , Velvet Mafia , The Harrow , Alternative Arts and Literature , SubtleTea , Offerings , Last Words , Sophomore Jinx , and many others.

He also created two spoken word performances – Poems for Conquering Venus and Two Voices – which premiered on Georgia Tech's WREK radio station program, Advise and Dissent. His interview with acclaimed German director Wim Wenders was published in MovieMaker magazine in December, 2003.

His play, The Dark Horse , was the recipient of the 1994 Deep South Writer's Award for Best Play. The play also won the Georgia Theatre Conference Award in 1997 for Best Play.
