Tyrone (Tír Eoghain) is the second largest of the nine counties of Ulster and the largest of the six counties of Northern Ireland. Area: 3,155 km² (1,218 square miles).

Tyrone is split into four districts:

• Cookstown
• Dungannon
• Omagh
• Strabane

The county town of Tyrone is Omagh. Other towns include Castlederg and Coalisland. Historically Tyrone stretched as far north as Lough Foyle, comprising part of modern day Co. Derry, east of the Foyle river.
