Daniel Clark (politician)

Daniel Clark (circa 1766 - August 16, 1813) was the first Delegate from Orleans Territory to the United States House of Representatives. Born in Sligo, Ireland and educated at Eton College in England, he immigrated to the United States in 1786 and settled in New Orleans, Louisiana. He engaged in land speculation and banking, and was appointed a member of the first legislative council for the territory, but declined. Clark was elected to the House and served from December 1, 1806 to March 3, 1809. He was an unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1808.

Clark died in New Orleans, and is interred in St. Louis Cemetery No. 1.
