Dogger Bank incident

The Dogger Bank incident occurred on October 21, 1904, when the Russian Baltic Fleet was passing the Dogger Bank on their way to Port Arthur in China to reinforce the Russian fleet there during the Russo-Japanese War. The Russians mistook a Swedish ship for a Japanese torpedo boat. Later that night the Russians thought they were under attack and opened fire on British trawlers in the North Sea, sinking one, The Crane . The Moulmein and Mino also took hits, but suffered no casualties.
