Dorothea Lieven

Princess Dorothea Lieven (1785-1857) was a Russian noblewoman, the wife of the Russian ambassador to London from 1812-1834. Known for her vivacious personality, she was often seen with Klemens Wenzel von Metternich and François Guizot. In 1834, she established a well-known salon in Paris. Her various correspondences have been collected and published several times.
