Fuyori

(Redirected from Fuyioru)

Fuyori appears to be an old Japanese name for a city later known as Miaòjiē (Chinese: 庙街) and currently Nikolayevsk-on-Amur. It is attested in the writings of early 19th century Japanese explorer Mamiya Rinzo . He describes a visit to a Manchu coastal town on left side of the mouth of the Amur River during his expeditions in the Sakhalin island area (in Japanese, Karafuto). The city was at the time (before the Treaty of Aigun) in the northeastern part of the Chinese province of Heilongjiang (Hulun in Manchu).

A number of Japanese myths are set in this area.
