The Guernsey pound (currency code GGP) is the currency used in Guernsey.

Exchange rates

The Guernsey pound is on par with the pound sterling (GBP), used in the United Kingdom. There are 0.543066 Guernsey pounds per U.S. dollar and 0.695447 Guernsey pounds per euro (as of October 2004).

Where the currency is accepted

The Guernsey pound, the pound sterling (including Scottish and Northern Irish notes) and the Jersey pound may be used in Guernsey. Some shops will also accept euros and other currencies can be exchanged in bureaux de change.

The Guernsey pound is legal tender only in Guernsey, but also circulates freely in Jersey. It can also be exchanged in other places using banks and bureaux de change.

Coinage

Guernsey issues its own coinage in values equivalent to the coinage used in Britain. U.K., Jersey, and Isle of Man coins are also found in circulation in Guernsey.
