Help Wanted is the pilot episode of SpongeBob SquarePants, which aired after The Kid's Choice Awards in 1999 and introduced SpongeBob, Gary the Snail, Patrick Star, Squidward Tentacles, Mr. Krabs and some anchovies .

The episode began with SpongeBob preparing to get a job as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab , only that he's not brave enough, but with encouragement from Patrick, he now feels confident to get his dream career choice. The owner, Mr. Krabs, feels that he doesn't have the "sea legs" to be his new fry cook, and, in an attempt to get rid of him, he tells SpongeBob to get him a super-powered spatula. Shortly after SpongeBob is gone, a group of inpatient anchovies attack the restaurant, but SpongeBob, with the special spatula, arrives back at the restaurant, just in time to save the day. It also features the song "Livin' the Sunlight, Lovin' the Moonlight " as recorded by deceased 1960s cult musician , Tiny Tim.

This episode is not available on the Spongebob Season 1 DVD Set, for unknown reasons.
