Hetty Wainthropp Investigates is an English crime drama television series which ran from 1996 to 1998 on the BBC. Patricia Routledge played the title character. Dominic Monaghan got his big break into acting on the show, playing her sidekick.

Hetty Wainthropp is a retired working class woman in Lancashire, North West England, who has a knack of jumping to conclusions and solving crimes of varying bafflement which the police often don't have the time to deal with.
