The Holborn Viaduct is a bridge linking Holborn with Newgate Street in the City of London, passing over Farringdon Street . It was built in the 1860s, and cost over two million pounds to complete. It spanned the steep-sided Holborn Hill and over the River Fleet. City Surveyor William Heywood was the architect, and took 6 years to complete.
Nearby was the Holborn Viaduct station, now replaced by the City Thameslink station.
