Jere was married to Hong Taiji and became his official wife, Empress of the Qing dynasty when it was established. She was also an aunt of the Grand Dowager Empress Xiao Zhuang, who was also married to Hong Taiji, thus both aun and niece shared the same husband. Xiao Zhuang's sister, Ha Lan Zhu , was also married to Hong Taiji.

Empress Jere died in 1648.
