Jesuit High School is a Jesuit high school in New Orleans, Louisiana founded in 1847. Its address is 4133 Banks Street.

The mascot is a blue jay posed with his fists raised, designed by cartoonist Walt Kelly. The school's colors are blue and white. As with other Jesuit schools, its motto is Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam ("for the greater glory of God" in Latin).

History

From its founding in 1847 until 1926, Jesuit High School was located in downtown New Orleans on Baronne Street. In 1926, it was moved to its current location on Carrollton and Banks in Mid-City. The school's current president is Father Antonio McGinn, and its current principal is Michael Giambelluca (Class of 1982). Recently, Father Claude P. Boudreaux was removed from the school amongst allegations of grave sexual misconduct, a part of the Roman Catholic Church sex abuse scandal. [1]
