Johan of Nassau

Count Johan of Nassau (November 22, 1535October 8, 1606) was the brother of William I of Orange. Other names he had were Jan VI or Jan de Oude. He was the second son of Willem of Nassau.

He was the principal author of the Union of Utrecht.

He was married to:

  • Elisabeth of Leuchtenberg (1537-1579)
  • Cunigonda v.d. Palts (1556-1586)
  • Johannetta van Sayn-Wittgenstein (1561-1622)

His son was Jan VII of Nassau.
