Maizuru, Kyoto

Maizuru (舞鶴市; Maizuru-shi) is a city located in Kyōto, Japan, on an inlet of the Sea of Japan.

As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 93,888 and the density of 274.44 persons per km². The total area is 342.11 km².

The city was founded on May 27, 1943.

Maizuru is a city of rich nature. Especially the scene from the Maizuru bay is an unparalleled view. A harbor is located to the Maizuru bay and it can go to Hokkaido via the Sea of Japan.
