Mercedes Bresso (born on 12 July 1944 in Sanremo, Imperia )
is a Italian politician and
president of the Piedmont Region. She is a member of the Democrats of the Left party.
She resigned, after her election as president of Piedmont, from the office as Member of European Parliament.

- 2000-2004: Chairman of the World Federation of United Cities
- 2004-2005: Founding Chairman of the Organisation 'Cités et Gouvernements locaux Unis'
