National Design Award

The National Design Award, founded in 1997, is funded and awarded by the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum. Awards are given to contemporary inventors and creators in six categories:

  • Lifetime Achievement
  • Corporate Achievement
  • Architecture Design
  • Communications Design
  • Environment Design
  • Fashion Design (created in 2002)
  • Product Design
  • Design Patron

Some years, the category "American Original" is specially created by the jury.
