Our Man Flint

Our Man Flint was a 1966 sci-fi action film which starred James Coburn. Directed by Daniel Mann , the premise of the movie is that a group of mad scientists decide to take over the world with an earthquake machine.

Plot

Super-cool spy Derek Flint was lured out of retirement to deal with the threat of Galaxy, a world-wide organization lead by a trio of Utopian scientists. Despairing of the world's governments ever getting their acts together, they demanded that the governments all capitulate to Galaxy. To enforce their demand, they initiated earthquakes with their machine.

Flint was motivated to take them on, not by the pleas of his former boss Lloyd Cramden, but by the premptive kidnapping of his "playmates." Along with a female agent, Gila (played by Gila Golan ), who had failed to eliminate Flint, they were turned into Pleasure Units by Galaxy. Flint declared that this was no way to start a Utopia, rescued the quartet, and destroyed Galaxy's South Pacific island headquarters.

A sequel, In Like Flint (1967) was directed by Gordon Douglas, and again starred James Coburn, with Lee J. Cobb as Lloyd C. Cramden.
