Pacific Tsunami Warning Center

Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) operated by NOAA in Ewa Beach, Hawaii, USA is a tsunami warning system, overseeing the international tsunami prediction and issuing warnings for the Pacific Ocean area. This centre was established in 1949, following the 1946 Aleutian Island earthquake and a tsunami that resulted in 165 casualties on Hawaii and Alaska.
