Paul Almond (born April 26, 1931) is a Canadian television and motion picture director and novelist.
Born David Paul MacPherson Almond in Montreal, Quebec, he attended Bishop's College School in Lennoxville, Quebec and McGill University before going to England to study at Oxford University.
At the CBC in Canada, he worked as a scriptwriter plus he directed and produced numerous programs. He also did similar work for the BBC until he took up feature-length filmmaking.
In 1967, Paul Almond married actress Geneviève Bujold with whom he had a son, Matthew James Almond. The couple divorced in 1973.
In recent years, Almond has authored several novels.
