Snow White (or Snow-White) is a fictional character in two fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm.

Snow White (German: Schneewittchen) is title character in the first tale, in which she is the stepdaughter of a wicked queen who tries ot have her killed. However, Snow White escapers death by running into the forest and finding refuge at the home of seven dwarves. A 1933 Betty Boop cartoon, Snow-White, was adapted from this story, as was the famous 1937 Disney animated feature, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

In the second tale, Snow-White and Rose-Red (German: Schneeweißchen und Rosenrot), Snow-White is one of the two title characters, and Snow-White is portrayed as the gentle and docile of the two devoted sisters.
