Spirit of Place
(1982)

Spirit of Place was the first rock record to feature the didgeridoo. The didgeridoo is particuarly prominent on the song "Solid Rock", which was a worldwide hit from the album. The album was also heavy on social protest themes. For example, "Solid Rock" deals with issues of land rights for Australian Aborigines, and "Let the Franklin Flow" (available on the extended re-issue) became an anthem of protest over the proposed Franklin Dam.
