	Taiping Taiping (also Itu Aba, Chinese: 太平島) is the largest island of Nansha Islands (Spratly Islands) in the South China Sea. It is controlled by the Republic of China on Taiwan. Taiping is a city in Taichung County in Taiwan, Republic of China. Taiping is a town located in the state of Perak in Malaysia. Formerly, it was known as Klian Pauh. At the end of the Larut War in 1874, it was renamed to Taiping, which translates to Peace in Chinese. Taiping was the administration center of the state of Perak until 1930s, before Ipoh is selected as the seat of government. Taiping Rebellion in China (during Qing Dynasty) between 1850 and 1864.
