The new Thais Love Thais party of Thaksin Shinawatra , a billionaire, won a majority, on a populist platform of economic growth and anti-corruption. The Democrat Party still showed that it was a liberal and formidable opposition. The New Aspiration and National Development Party won some seats, and the Thai Nation Party became the largest minor party. Several parties failed to win any seats.
