Antonio Oscar Garza, Jr., an American lawyer and judge, is the current United States ambassador to Mexico.
Garza, the grandson of Mexican immigrants to the U.S, earned a law degree from Southern Methodist University and practiced law before being elected a judge in Cameron County, Texas in 1988. A Republican, Garza served as Texas Secretary of State under Gov. George W. Bush. In 1998, Garza became the first Hispanic to hold statewide elected office in Texas when he was chosen as Texas Railroad Commissioner .
Although Garza was reportedly under consideration for a cabinet appointment in Bush's presidential administration, but in 2002 was named by President Bush as U.S. Ambassador to Mexico.
On February 26, he got married with Mexico's richest woman, Maria Asuncion Aramburuzabala at Mexico City.
