University Athletics Association of the PhilippinesThe University Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP) is a sports association of eight universities in the Philippines. Each year, teams from the universities play in 14 sports.It was established in 1938
Member UniversitiesUAAP has eight member universities all located in Metro Manila. Following is a list of those universities with their team designations in bold letters. Their junior (high school) teams are in parentheses.
As of now, only seven of the universities field a junior team i.e. excluding Far Eastern University (FEU) , and only four participates in all sports (University of the Philippines (UP), De La Salle University (DLSU), University of Santo Tomas (UST), and Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU)). SportsMember universities compete in 14 sports. Basketball, being the most popular sport in the Philippines, is the most watched and most supported among all the sports. Most of these sports have Men's and Women's divisions, with the exception of baseball, in which only men participate, and softball, which is for women only. Almost all the sports also have a Junior division, in which the associated high schools of the universities participate. 1st Semester Sports (June-October)
