The University of Siena (Università di Siena, UNISI) in Tuscany is one of the older universities of Italy, founded in the 13th century, initially as a Studium. It currently has around 20,000 enrolled students, out of Siena's population of approximately 50,000, and is most renowned for its Law and Medicine schools.

Università per Stranieri di Siena ("The University for Foreigners") was formerly affiliated with the University of Siena, but is now a separate state university.
