Wavre

Wavre is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Walloon Brabant, of which it is the capital. On January 1st, 2004 Wavre had a total population of 31,693 (15,187 males and 16,506 females). The total area is 41.80 km² which gives a population density of 758.14 inhabitants per km².

Transmitter

Wavre is the location of a broadcasting facility for shortwave, medium wave, FM and TV of the Belgian broadcasting society. As aerial for medium wave a guyed steel framework mast is used. The aerials for FM and TV are on a free standing lattice tower. In 1983 a storm destroyed the main transmission mast for TV transmission.
