William Weatherford

Willam Weatherford (born 1780, died 1824) led the Creek War offensive during the War of 1812 against the United States, possibly against his will. Weatherford was, like many of the high-ranking members of the Creek nation, part white (a descendent of Scottish traders). President Andrew Jackson was so impressed by Weatherford that he pardoned him, allowing him to live on with his family in Alabama until his death.
