Zuzana Licko

Zuzana Licko (born 1961 is a typeface designer from Prague, Czech Republic. Licko is co-founder of the Emigre type foundry of Sacramento, California (from 1984). Licko's work for Emigre originally began with experimental typefaces for her dot matrix printer, but these styles continued to find favour after the advent of the office laser printer in the late 1980s and early 1990s. She is married to Dutch type and graphic designer and publisher Rudy VanderLans .

By the mid-1990s, Licko worked on two notable revivals: Mrs Eaves, based on Baskerville, and Filosofia, based on Bodoni. Both were personal interpretations of the earlier models and feature extensive ligatures.
